I was born in 1956 and am currently based in Winterthur, Switzerland. For more than 45 years, I worked in the electronics and semiconductor industry, driven by my desire to learn, explore, and create. After retiring, I decided to devote myself to another lifelong interest: photography.
A trip to Antarctica in 2022/2023 was a turning point; my fascination with the remote landscape and its inhabitants reignited my passion for capturing the world through my camera. Since then, I have been documenting my experiences with nature around the world, from local birds and mammals to encounters with diverse wildlife.
By the end of 2025, I had completed the Swiss Photo Club's one-year academy course. The course opened up new dimensions of photography for me, providing a foundation on which I could build a better understanding of photography and discover new forms of self-expression.
I discovered a new form of creativity in hybrid photography, which benefited from my technical approach. It allowed me to combine wildlife photography with studio work. This led to my final project in the academy: "Animals in a Changing World." I will continue to experiment with hybrid photography beyond just animals.
