Common crane. Izumi, Japan / February 2024
A family of cranes flies in formation across the Japanese sky, with the parents showing their offspring where to find food. Everything seems natural and peaceful. The sky has been subtly altered in the studio to symbolize how the habitat in the winter has gradually changed to the detriment of the cranes. The image attempts to symbolize that these changes are only visible upon closer inspection and can have enormous long-term effects.
