Wolfs. Finland / April 2023
On a cold spring morning, a mother wolf and her one-year-old cub stand facing each other, sniffing the ground. The cub is learning a lesson in this quiet place. The photograph was taken in the Finnish-Russian border region. The thin layer of ice added in the studio symbolizes the fragility of this special place where this wolfs has lived in peace for over thirty years. However, the new border line being built in Karelia will significantly change their habitat. The effect on the wolf packs in the region is unknown.
